If you’re looking to do some renovations in your kitchen, or aren’t sure exactly what the best kitchen cabinet will work in your Kwazulu-Natal home, you’re in luck. The Home Innovation Research Labs recently released their 2017 Builders Best Practices survey, which gives some great advice on the most popular and up-and-coming kitchen and home renovation trends. We’ve listed some of the kitchen design trends that we can’t wait to help you bring to your home.
Minimalist is big
The minimalist movement is still showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, we’ve started to see an increase in kitchen cabinets that adhere to the movement. However, the Home Innovation survey does mention that other designs are more popular with larger families, especially flat panel doors in the kitchen.
Painted cabinets
Speaking of cabinets, the survey goes on to say that the most popular finishes for kitchen cabinets are wood-finish and that cabinets with a painted finish are definitely starting to gain ground. This makes sense, as a painted-finish kitchen cabinet can be a great way to add a level of sophistication to the most used room in the home.
The metals still rule
Most social media followers will tell you that brass finishes are on the up, but the survey doesn’t agree. According to Home Innovation’s research, chrome remains one of the most used finishes in both the kitchen and bathroom, with nickel making some strong gains, enough to maybe even supplant it in years to come.
Step aside granite
When it comes to countertop material, granite has been leading the local and international market for some time. However, there has been a recent spike in the use of quartz as a countertop finish, which means that if you are looking to get ahead of the design curve, getting quartz might just do the trick.
These trends should definitely give you some great design ideas for your kitchen or home renovation. If you need high-quality and custom-made kitchen cupboards that are designed to your exact specifications, or need some help getting your design perfect, why not contact us today?
